International Student Support System
Sogang GSIS is fully aware that studying abroad is a huge commitment that can be fraught with uncertainties and concerns. As a result, we have established an International Student Supporter System that attempts to alleviate many of these worries so that you can feel more at ease pursuing your academic goals and cultural interests in Korea. A supporter fluent in your own language will be able to assist you in everything from the application procedure to meeting you at the airport when you arrive. This supporter will hopefully be able to minimize culture shock by providing the following services:

Administrative Assistance
Any questions or concerns regarding course registration can be addressed to your supporter. Furthermore, the supporters will help you set up internet accounts and obtain cell phones for your stay in Korea. You can contact the International Student Supporters by e-mail.

Housing Support
Your supporter will provide you with a range of options for housing (homestay, boarding house, dormitory, etc.) that are located near the campus, and will secure a place for you once you have made your choice. Your supporter can also show you how to get around Seoul using the various forms of transportation available here.

Academic Assistance
Supporters can provide official academic planning advice as well as non-official advice gleaned from their own experiences as students at GSIS. From these experiences, they may be able to give you some helpful tips on academic success here.

Cultural Guidance
During your stay in Korea, your supporter will be a kind of cultural guide, helping you to understand Korean culture. Excursions to famous locals, traditional restaurants, or sports events will also be arranged for the foreign students.
