Profile

Dr. Yoon Je Cho has been serving as Korea’s Ambassador to the USA since August 2017. He served as Economic Advisor to the President of the ROK (2003-2005), and Korea’s Ambassador to the United Kingdom (2005-2008). Before he joined Sogang University in March 1997, Dr. Cho had held various posts at academic, governmental and international institutions, including Vice President of Korea Institute of Public Finance, Senior Economist at the World Bank, Economist at the International Monetary Fund (IMF), and Senior Counselor to the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance and Economy of ROK . He also taught at Georgetown University as an Adjunct Professor. He was trained at Seoul National University (B.A., Economics) and Stanford University (Ph. D., Economics).
