Schedule for
Thesis Writing (Spring, 2024)
1. Students who are planning to do the thesis defense this semester are required to submit the following to the GSIS office by May 3(Fri), 2024. ① Confirmation for submitting thesis draft ② Research(Thesis) ethics enforcement pledge ③ One copy of thesis draft
※ The forms ①, ② are attached here. ※ Both in-person and online submissions are acceptable. ※ Late submission will not be accepted. ※ The draft is intended for the office to check the progress of
students' theses. During the actual thesis defense process, students must
submit individual copies of their thesis papers to each referee.
2. Deadline of paying the thesis defense fee: May 30(Thu), 2024 - Amount: 250,000 KRW (MA students) - Amount: 550,000 KRW (Ph.D. students) - How: by remitting thesis
defense fee to virtual account ※ Virtual account number for each student will be announced at the end of May by email.
3. Period for the thesis defense: June 3(Mon)~10(Mon),
2024 ※ Students should consult with their thesis advisors in advance
about the date and place for the thesis defense and should inform the details
to GSIS Office.
4. Period of submitting completed thesis through the online
registration system: TBA(June) ※ Starting from the Fall semester of 2023, Sogang university no
longer requires hard copies of thesis. Students must upload the completed
thesis file and scanned ratification separately to the school thesis system (dCollection). ※ In addition to online upload, students are required to submit the physical
ratification of thesis (논문인준서, an approval paper) with the original
signatures of all referees to GSIS office.
